Fossil Exhibit Trail - 0.2 Miles Round-Trip
Family friendly and handicap accessible, the short Fossil Exhibit Loop is a worthwhile excursion. Interpretive signs discuss the Badlands' unique pre-historic inhabitants, and a few actual fossils are showcased along the trail.
Classic badland formations frame the trailside, and early morning provides the best light for photographing this distinctly attractive area. Ambitious and well-prepared hikers may wish to venture off trail and explore the complex maze of spires, pinnacles and knife-edge ridges just west of the trail.
