Loomis Lake lies near treeline at the base of a deep, tightly bound cirque in a seldom-visited part of the perennially crowded Bear and Fern Lake Trail corridors. There is no maintained trail leading to Loomis Lake - hikers should anticipate rugged conditions and limited navigational clarity between the Fern Lake Trail and Loomis Lake. Those who venture here will enjoy well-earned solitude, undisturbed terrain and excellent fishing opportunities in numerous streams, ponds and lakes along the way.
