Big Creek Trailhead: Mouse Creek Falls

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Mouse Creek Falls is accessed from the Big Creek Campground in the northeast corner of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Big Creek Trail follows an old rail grade along Big Creek for 1.9 miles to its confluence with Mouse Creek and the 45' fall. The falls are only physically accessible by crossing Big Creek (not recommended), however views are quite good from the designated viewing area. The Big Creek Trail follows an old railroad grade used to haul lumber out of the mountains during the logging boom at the start of the 20th century.
